Professor John Miller is the Deputy Director of the Centre for Exploration Targeting .
His key areas of research are structural geology, Ar/Ar geochronology, tectonics and mineralisation.
For the past nine years he has focused on structural controls on mineralisation, ranging in scale from a single ore shoot within a deposit to regional controls on ore body development.
John has a current focus on developing new mapping methodologies that make use of recently developed software (such as Leapfrog for drill hole modelling and geomodeller) to efficiently utilise company data bases to produce more focused and rapid results.
In 2004 he was jointly awarded the Joe Harms Medal by the Geological Society of Australia for ‘Excellence in mineral exploration and ore deposit research’.
